Grevilleas and Gumnuts

My watercolour “Grevilleas and Gumnuts” hanging in the Ballina Art Society exhibition on the weekend.

This weekend I spent a few enjoyable hours at the beautiful Tintenbah Hall. Sitting in a cool breeze on the veranda of that lovely old hall, was not hard to take.

I was helping out at the Ballina Art Society annual exhibition.
There was much wonderful art available to purchase there and it was being snapped up. I sold seven paintings while I was on the sales desk!

Several of the visitors commented to me about the high quality of the art and the reasonable prices. Many mentioned how much they value having art by talented local artists in their homes. Some were clearly happy to be ‘out and about’, enjoying something that they love to do.

I thought a lot about the connections being made in the community, by a simple outing and about the benefits that it has bought to many people.
Congratulations to Ballina Art Society for such an enjoyable and successful exhibition.
